The partnership will work together on strengthening the WECAN (Workers in Early Childhood Action Network) Health & Safety Organizing Project by building worker solidarity, organizing to address health and safety issues, and demanding health and safety standards for health and safety efforts in the childcare industry.

The partnership aims to bring together labor, and social justice organizations whose membership bases overlap, and organizations focused on immigrants’ rights to build a broad-based workers’ movement in the food service sector.

WeCount! and South Florida AFL-CIO are working in partnership to make local government work for all workers by advocating for ordinances in 2021 and 2022 that expand protections related to health and safety, employment discrimination, heat stress, and wage theft. This partnership aims to win a Labor Standards Co-Enforcement Fund and Program, a model of how local governments can push back and help rebuild an economy and labor movement for all.

Rural & Migrant Ministry, UFCW and RWDSU

Rural & Migrant Ministry, UFCW and RWDSU are working in partnership as part of the Justice for Farmworkers Campaign and collaborate together to educate farmworkers and their rights in New York State, under the Farm Laborer Fair Labor Practices Act (FLFLPA). Under this historic law, farmworkers have a guaranteed day of rest, overtime pay, and the right to collectively bargain (amongst other rights). This collaborative partnership is helping to build stronger leadership and in turn, worker power in upstate New York.

This partnership aims to significantly strengthen Black worker power, public support for unions among Black Illinoisans, and actual membership in AFSCME.

Workers’ Dignity Project and IUPAT District Council 91 are working in partnership on a multi-year campaign to create a floor of wages and safe conditions for construction workers, including worker-run monitoring and enforcement in Nashville, TN. The partnership aims to conduct public pressure organizing campaigns and collaborate with local and state elected officials to strengthen workers’ rights in government procurement, the permitting processes, and on health and safety accountability.
